Alright. So I have seriously been out of the 'punk music' loops since I moved permanently down to Dayton, OH. I used to live in Akron, and had a friend that kept me up to date on everything. I loved it.

But when I moved down here permanently, he and I had a big fight, and nothing has ever been the same. Especially because I'm a musical theatre major - and I listen to that music a lot too.

But I miss my punk music. :(

SO! What I want is help. My favorite bands are Starting Line and Dashboard Confessional.

But what are all your favorite bands/songs? Help! I need to update my collection!

X - posted _starting_line_, _emo_lyrics_, drivethrurec, safteyinnumbers.

4:22 pm - 7/27 Punk Uncensored

All of the technical difficulties that plagued me like tiny little demons are gone this week! The show will go off in spectacular fashion. We have a ton of great new music from Underoath, Melee, the new TBS and two songs from out featured artist Bad Religion. Also I will be presenting the results of the question I asked everyone about who is a great small time band ready to hit it big. So a bunch of great reasons to tune in tonight. Talk to you then!

As always you can tune in at http://www.impact89fm.org/thefix/

9:59 pm - Riddle Me This....

I would like to appoligize to everyone who attempted to tune into Punk Uncensored last night and got nothing. Due to technical difficulties the show didn't make it off the sheet. Don't worry though, the feature on Bad Religion and all the good music from Underoath, Melee, FOB and others (espc Underoath, wow a lot of you seemed to have wanted that one) will be back next Tues.

I promise diligent effort to get everything working, if not for you, then for me! I love talking to you guys during the show.

So in the meantime, answer this for me...

What band do you think will be huge someday, that nobody but you might know about?
1)Who is it?
2)Where are they from?

1:13 pm - Clothes

Why is Lip Service so god damn expensive, lol? You can go in to clone shops like New Look and get loads of cheap stuff, and most of that's still a rip off...but Lip Service is really expensive. Anyone else agree?

On a community based note, I'm gonna sort the background out today, lol.

5:05 pm - Reel Big Fish Coast To Coast Roast Review

Hey all, a little review on a big concert for anyone interested in these bands or checking out this show on the last leg of its tour...

The Detroit area bash kicked off at about 3pm with a local heroes set of 3 bands. The guys struggled against a strong wind that made it hard for the less experienced vocalists to get their lyrics across. The overall talent of the home town squad could have been higher, but they entertained the fifty or so people who seemed to tune into them. The more entertaining part of the show began when local guys The Transfer took the stage. The pit gave its first sign of life and front man Steve interacted with the crowd well, dolling out what seemed like near a hundred 3 track demo CD's.

The first feature band to step up to the plate were the Suburban Legends, who broke out in boy band dance moves that got the crowd into right away. They played five songs I believe and really pumped up the crowd. Their on-stage antics included the choreographed dancing along with a mock chicken fight. A good audio and visual set from them. Jenoah will take over for Suburban in Texas on the 13th.

Lucky Boys Confusion came on next and gave a performance that could have been taken straight from CD. No real interaction or antics, but the sound quality from them was very high, and Stubhy's vocals sounded great. Probably the only disappointing thing about LBC's set was the shortness of it, and the lack of "Fred Astaire" in the line-up.(The Legends and Lucky Boy's were the two bands I got a chance to meet on the day at the merch stands, and I thank them for taking the time to pen my radio station's shirt and chill.)

Catch 22 arrived next and brought out the skank dancers. A mob of the colorful crew grew on the hill as C22 played their ever crisp horn solos. C22 got involved with them and gave them several shout outs, inviting them down into the pit. The skankers swarmed like locusts into the seat section (which never filled to half capacity) and security had no choice but to let them be. C22's set had great variety and sounded excellent, probably the second best of the night next to Reel Big.

Rx-Bandits played the lead off to RBF and honestly, the crowd didn't quite know how to react. Rx plays what I like to call a version of Punk-Jazz, and it killed the skank dancers. For those who appreciated the music however, Rx hit their songs to a tee and transitioned in between nearly every song to make it sound flawless. One highlight of their set was the blond girl who appeared at the top of the seats and proceeded to rave dance for the rest of the show. I think she was hopped up on E.

At first I thought Reel Big Fish might not have much of an energetic crowd left after the 6 hours of sun we had all taken but boy did they come out and juice everyone up. Almost the entire crowd crammed into the seat section as Reel Big played all the hits, including my favorite "Beer". They included a new one named "The Fire". During the set they played on stage in their typical comedic antics, with Aaron losing his shirt and echoing back and fourth with Scott. Tyler gave a perfectly timed advertisement for PunkVoter.com and the entire crowd sang along with Aaron's instructions to "Where Have You Been." An exciting point on the evening was when Aaron announced they will begin recording their new album in November.

The entire show was a very relaxed and entertaining day, and if every other venue is as over sized as ours was, there should be plenty of room to spread out and chill for 8 hours. I highly recommend the show and give it a 4 out 5 stars. Oh, and wear sun screen, don't be an idiot like me.

(P.S. If your group does not want reviews like this, news or updates on my radio show posted, please just remove me, I won't be offended)
